Swasti Vinayaka Synthetics Ltd was incorporated as a private limited company on 9th march 1981 by the name of Rajesh Synthetics Ltd. on 8th july 1985. The name was changed to Swasti Vinayaka Synthetics Ltd on 10th sep 1999.
Till 1985, the company was mainly engaged in the marketing of suiting, shirting, sarees and dress materials. The company set up its first plant in 1985 at Tarapur to manufacture suiting an shirting. Since 1985 it changed its focus from trading to manufacturing activities.
Till 1989, SVSL was part of the Siyaram Group. Progressively, it went on to build its own brand "Vinayaka". Under a scheme of amalgamation approved in 1990-91 by the high court of Bombay, two textile manufacturing companies viz. M/s. Shree Ganesh Fabrics Ltd with its weaving unit at Bhiwandi and Ranisati Syntex with its weaving unit at Phalghar merged with the company from 1.4.90.
