Application and Design Engineering
A number of factors must be considered in selecting a mechanical shaft seal for an application. Seal's size, speed, pressure, temperature, chemical and physical characteristic of the process liquid and the equipment to which the seal is to be applied all come into play in seal selection. The actual selection and design is often a compromise between several of the factors, along with space availability, customer's specification, economy and the availability of environemental controls.
