Late Mr. M.C. Balan was the founder of M.C. Balan and Company and Sashidhara Engineering Work. With only primary educational background, he was a genius in himself.
He literally grew up in a workshop inspired by various ideas. He spent his entire childhood working on those.
Invention started at the age of 17 when he manufactured a Gramaphone record player fully automatic and between the age of 17 to 30 years he created many such wonderful machines. One of which won him a gold medal which was awarded to him by late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
After that there was no looking back for him, he worked very hard to take his workshop to a greater height.
In the year 1973 he received another gold medal for his outstanding work from late President V.V. Giri.
This was another feather to his already decorated cap.
As time went by his work load and tension increased and on fateful day of 1st Feb of 1977 he left to the almighty, leaving behind his creations and the well established M.C. Balan and Company, and Shashidhara Engineering work, now looked after by his three sons - Vinod, Shashi and Deepak.
