Welcome to Asian Institute of Management

In 1968, distinguished visionaries of the Asian academic and business communities forged a partnership between Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle College with the support of mentors from the Harvard Business School and the Ford Foundation.

The quest for Asian peace and prosperity in the aftermath of World War II, inspired the Institute’s founders to establish AIM where successive generations of Asian managers could be trained to think independently, act collectively, manage effectively, and lead responsibly.

To this day, AIM leads in the region’s socio-economic transformation by offering unique educational opportunities and cross-cultural experiences to citizens from developing and developed economies worldwide. It remains that center of excellence where builders of Asian societies network to shape their progressive common future. Over 24,000 students from 30 Asian countries and 33 nations from other regions have completed graduate studies and executive education programs at the Institute.

AIM offers a unique Asian approach to developing professional managers. Students are continually exposed to relevant situations drawn from the experiences of organizations in Asia through case method learning and hands-on field preparation. Degree and non-degree programs, as well as workshops, seminars and short courses are held throughout the year.

AIM also designs customized programs tailored to the special needs of organizations. In-house training and consultancies are organized for specific areas of management, or for particular industries and sectors in the Asian business and development community region-wide. The curriculum is designed to enhance managerial capabilities to address the challenges of the globalized environment.

The Institute's multi-national character prepares students to well understand the cross-cultural issues that confront the region. It instills a sense of community and develops a world-view that prepares them for dynamic alumni networking into the future. Interaction with close to eighty faculty members with postgraduate and graduate degrees from a broad spectrum of universities results in a stimulating and distinctive learning environment.

In recognition of AIM's pioneering initiative, in 1995 the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation cited the Institute for "setting region-wide standards for excellence and training Asian managers for Asia’s development".
